General Workers X17 Positions

Salary: R 9 553

Description:

We are looking for suitably qualified persons for the Fixed Term Contracts for the mentioned job opportunities at Kruger National Park for a period of three months in the following camps: Letaba and Satara camps respectively. The successful candidates will be accommodated in official accommodation inside the park and be required to work shifts.

Requirements:
  • Grade 10
  • An experience in housekeeping will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to assist with general repairs and maintenance of tools.
  • The incumbent must have basic knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Gardening and terrain maintenance knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Physical good health.
  • Good knowledge of tools, handling and aftercare.
Responsibilities:
  • Performing semi-skilled tasks that will include cleaning the camp accommodation and public areas.
  • Performing garden and terrain maintenance around the camp.
  • Performing duties of a technical nature within the incumbent’s capabilities.
  • Assisting with other ad hoc tasks as required by Supervisor/Management.
  • Working closely with the camp supervisor.

Hut Attendants x 21 Positions

Salary: R 9 553

Requirements:
  • Grade 10
  • Experience in housekeeping will be an added advantage
  • The incumbent must have basic knowledge of hygiene.
  • The incumbent must have basic knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
  • Physical good health.
  • Good knowledge of tools, handling and aftercare.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform cleaning duties including chalets, ablution facilities and surrounding areas to prescribed set standards.
  • Control inventory items.
  • Reporting abnormalities including equipment and maintenance faults.
  • Assist with the collection of supplies when necessary.
  • Assist with general work in the camp.
  • Assist in laundry duties of the rest camp.

Storeroom Assistant

Salary: R 9 553

Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Two years working experience in a storeroom
  • Ability to assist with general repairs and maintenance to infrastructure.
  • The incumbent must have knowledge of health and safety in the workplace and/ must have done a First Aid level course
  • Physical good health.
  • Good knowledge of tools, handling and aftercare.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the safekeeping, issuing and returning of equipment used by the staff on the section.
  • Issues the equipment to the general workers and the general worker supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that all equipment is returned after the days work
  • Keeps record of equipment and cleaning material issued and returned.
  • Ensures that all equipment in the store is clean and in working order.
  • Ensures that equipment that is returned is clean.
  • Ensures that equipment returned is still serviceable and in working order.
  • Informs his supervisor of any equipment that needs repairs or replacement.
  • Performs minor repairs to equipment to keep it in working order.
  • Keeps the storeroom and surrounding area clean.
  • Performs certain manual labour tasks as may be requested.
  • Assists the general worker team in certain tasks, i.e. cleaning of facilities, gardens.
  • Assists during emergency situations, i.e. veld firefighting.
  • Reports directly to the general worker Team Leader

Receptionist (3 positions)

Salary: R 11 656

Requirements:
  • A 3-year Tourism National Diploma
  • Good telephone, people and administration skills as well as sound interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and Opera knowledge is essential.
  • Previous front office experience
  • Clean criminal record
  • Proficiency in English
Responsibilities:
  • To receive, and handle telephone calls and telephonic enquiries and where specified, relay telephone messages timeously
  • To receive guests in a friendly manner and process the computerised guest reservation through the check-in and check out process
  • To raise any extra charges that a guest might incur
  • To ensure outstanding monies are collected and processed according to company policy
  • To inform guests of facilities at the lodge and upsell on activities
  • To assist guests with amendments to reservations and special requests
  • To coordinate guests requests and complaints and handle efficiently
  • To perform general administration at the Reception area
  • To adhere to company dress code and protocol

 

Linen Room Supervisor

Description:

Eight (8) Months Fixed Term Contract.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Linen Room Supervisor at Skukuza Safari Lodge.
NB. The position will be filled in line with the Employment Equity Targets for KNP.

Salary: R 9 153

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 plus Housekeeping Certificate
  • 2 years of practical experience in a similar environment.
  • Laundry experience will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products
  • Understanding of Safety and Hygiene requirements.
  • Understanding of Hospitality/Housekeeping standards.
  • Organizing skills/Self-management skills.
  • Basic understanding of Customer Service.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating, planning and evaluation of functional areas within the linen room to ensure a business focus as well as compliance to standards, systems and procedures.
  • Distribution of clean linen for accommodation units, cleaning materials and equipment, and issuing of consumables and additional mattresses.
  • Counting and balancing of linen and equipment
  • Keeping records of Housekeeping and room statistics, goods received, as well as lost and found property
  • Supervision of staff that includes the planning of work schedules, evaluation of work and determining of training requirements.
  • Stock control and placing of orders.
  • Communicating closely with the front desk concerning VIP.

 

Room Attendants (3 positions)

Salary: R 8 918

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • At least 1 – 6 months’ work experience in a hospitality/hotel environment, priority will be given to those that worked at Skukuza Safari Lodge before.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products
  • Understanding of safety and Hygiene requirements.
  • Basic understanding of Hospitality/Housekeeping standards.
  • Organizing skills/Self-management skills.
  • Basic understanding of Customer Service.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all assigned rooms are clean and tidy by the end of the shift.
  • Report technical and maintenance needs
  • Follow hotel safety and hygiene guidelines.
  • Control Inventory items
  • Replenish bath care products and room amenities
  • Clean public areas like corridors
  • Address quests queries
  • Help guests retrieve lost items or report lost items

Tourism Monitor (Youth Development)

Park: Groenkloof (Head Office)

Description:

A challenging vacancy currently exists for a Tourism Monitor at Groenkloof National Park reporting to the Senior Manager: Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building. The position is on a fixed-term contract up to the end of 31 August 2022. The total remuneration package is a basic salary as per the Expanded Public Works Programme rates of R190.00 per day.
